This time too, a tremendous demand for big and special dates is being seen in the markets, due to which its prices are also increasing.
Tremendous boom in dates sales
During Ramadan, Rosadars first open fast with dates in Iftar after being hungry and thirsty throughout the day. Due to this religious tradition, the demand for dates increases in Ramadan every year. This time too, there has been an increase of 50 to 60 percent in the sales of dates in the markets. Due to which there is a huge demand for dates.
Increased demand for date dates of premium quality
According to the traders, this time Ramadan has seen the highest jump in the sales of premium quality dates. Especially expensive and large dates like Ajwa, Medjul, Safavi, Kimia and Barhi are high.
Date prices surge in markets
Due to high demand for dates due to Ramadan, its prices have also increased. Traders say that high quality dates imported from abroad have increased by 20 to 30 percent. Azimullah, a shopkeeper selling dates in the Kotwali market of Jaunpur, said, “The sale of dates in Ramadan increases manifold. This year also demand is very high, so prices have increased. The prices of lags and Medjul dates have reached 800 to 1200 rupees per kg. “Compared to last year, this time the prices of Medjul and Safavi dates have increased by 25%. However, people are still buying them, because dates are most liked for Iftar in Ramadan. ”
Online sales also boom
Along with increasing crowds in the markets, there has been an increase in the sale of dates on online platforms. People are asking for dates through e-commerce websites and social media. The sale of dates of canned and premium quality is getting more on the online platform. “Online demand for dates in Ramadan increases greatly. Especially those who live abroad, they order online dates for their family members. This time, Medjul and Ajwa dates are being sold the most. ”
Dates being imported from abroad
Most of the dates are imported from Gulf countries and Africa during Ramadan. A large amount of dates are called from Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, UAE, Tunisia and Egypt. Saudi Arabia’s “Ajwa” and “Safavi” dates, UAE’s “Barhi” and “Kimiya” are the most liked in the dates and Iraq’s “self” dates. “During the month of Ramadan, the demand for dates imported from abroad is the highest. This time we are asking for good quality dates from UAE, Saudi and Iran, so that customers can get the best product. ”
